Benefits of Organic Skincare

Did you know that up to 60% of what you put onto your skin is actually absorbed?

If they answer is no, then stop and think about it. Think of all the things that could possibly come into contact with your skin almost every day.

  • Shampoo
  • Washing Up Liquid
  • Face Cream
  • Hand wash

The list is endless and a little scary when you look at the amount of chemicals that are shown on the ingredients list, (although the list is so long they don’t show it anymore).

Some of these ingredients are in more than one product,  such as shampoo and floor cleaners both have some of the same ingredients.

The ingredients that are in these types of products can actually damage your skin and cause you harm.

They can cause eczema, psoriasis, premature ageing of the skin, some are even toxic.

So look out for:

  • Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) -  this is a foaming agent
  • Propylene Glycol – this is a humectants (stops water & oil from separating)

This is to name only two, there are many that are used on a regular basis.

Is it not far better to use what Mother Nature intended?

We can use mint to refresh us,  Chamomile to sooth our skin and oats in a bath soak is excellent to soften the water and help with eczema.

There are many more ingredients and skin food that Mother Nature has provided for us, we just need to have a little read on the internet, books and magazines that give you information on what’s good for you and why also the not so good.
